Joseph Morrison and Royal Navy Captain William Mulcaster defeat an American invasion force of over 7,000 led by General James Wilkinson at the Battle of Crysler's Farm. Wilkinson's flotilla left Sackett's Harbor in late October and landed on the Canadian side of the Long Sault rapids. With only 800 British regulars of the 49th and 89th Regiments, plus some Canadian militia and Indians, Morrison moves to attack 1,800 Americans of the 25th Infantry Regiment under Brown at Crysler's Farm 30 km west of Cornwall; at the same time, Captain William Mulcaster's gunboats fire shrapnel and grapeshot on General John Park Boyd's flotilla of 4,000 American troops trying to descend the rapids toward Montreal, which helps Morrison land his troops at Crysler's Farm. In the first skirmish, the Americans take 400 casualties to the British 200. It was really good. We used 3D glasses of course. We had to put our glasses on & off through- out the movie. There was about 20min. of 3D action. But I found that alot of the movie had 3D special affects without our glasses. The super huge screen was really cool. It sounds like there could be another Superman movie in the future at least I hope so. I saw the original Superman in theatres when I was a kid. It was my very first movie in a theatre, thanks to a very special adult(Jane Richer) who took me there. Anywho afterwards we went to Red Lobster for din din. We both had shrimp & steak. Yummy Yummy & this time I didn't drop or break anything.

Yestaurday we went & saw Pirates of the Caribbean at the AMC 30 at the Block in Orange.

I liked this movie as well. I found it very humerous. I can't wait for the third one to come out. I heard its almost completed. After the movie we took a drive along the PCH around Newport & Huntington Beach. It was absolutely gorgeous. I love those places.

We especially love to take our dog to Dog Beach which is located on a section of the Huntington Beach area.

This upcoming weekend we will be in Southern Oregon visiting with relatives for a family reunion. I found some left over spagetti & meatballs & figured yum yum my tum tum will be happy happy.

So I got the food out of the fridge & set it on the counter & took the lid off & was about to dig in when all of a sudden out of nowhere my yum yum food went & crash landed all over the floor.
So I thought how will I clean this up..... "Peachy" I cry out "come help"......Well of course being the food hound(refer to previous blog) she came bounding in & eat it all making her tum tum very happy happy with my yum yum food. Anywho I thought I'd take some pic's of this momentous occasion.

Anywho something like this is a regular occurance for me.
I drink out of plastic cups & eat out of plastic bowls, because I keep dropping the other kind & they break. I buy a nice set of 4 or 6 & end up with 3 or 5 in no time flat.
I also prefer carpet in every room so incase I do drop something not plastic there's a chance it won't break. Our living room carpet of course is a complete mess as I keep dropping my plastic cup of water all the time as well as various types of food.
I need to get a dark carpet so no one sees it. Heee heee believe it or not I've even killed plastic stuff... by putting it on a hot stove & forgetting about it.....

I also like hurting myself, I used to have a saying that if I didn't trip or fall at least once a day then I was having a bad day.
I've fallen down ravines, gotten run over twice by a bicyclest, fallen on my knees on hard cement, sprained my finger while swimming (how does one do that, well who knows, but I did).
Walked into trees, poles, furniture, doors, windows & people. I broke a couple of toes last year walking into my dresser & then tripping over the dog, incidentally the dog was limping for a couple of days as well. I've sprained my ankle jumping on a trampoline, go figure!!!
Just recently I got too close to a candle burning & some of my hair & ear got burnt when some flames erupted onto my head, that was pretty scary & I ran screaming trying to get it out, Mike didn't know what was happening until he smelled the burning smell. I had to light some smelling candles to get the burnt smell out & course I was just fine, but my head smelled burnt & my ear was slightly burned but it healed up in a couple of days. Also lost abit of hair in the process but thats ok I have a ton of it anyway.

Anywho I've done so many hazardous things, I'm amazed I'm still in one piece. Today Miss Peachy got herself a haircut & bath pampering at Petsmart(local petstore). She looked oh so cute with 2 yellow ribbons that they stuck in her fur.
So I thought I would take some pictures. However Miss Peachy doesn't like the camera too much making it very hard to take a half decent picture of her. She also doesn't like ribbons stuck in her fur.
So anywho after I managed to take 1 picture, she managed to get one of the ribbons out of her hair. The one here to the left was taken just after returning home. She's panting like crazy because of the heat wave were having here at the moment. She also has the 2 ribbons.

Next one just a few seconds later she was thirsty & thus took a drink of water plus some food as she is a food hound & will basically eat just about anything at anytime. So I had to wait. Here she was just settling down from chowing down & thus was licking her chops.
Notice 1 ribbon.

The next ones I tried to get her to look at me. I managed to get 1.

Yipee finally.

The phone company (SBC) blues

We've been experiencing major phone problems for over a year now, and it has returned with a vengance. Our wonderful provider, SBC, keeps telling us that they have the problem fixed, but every time they send one of their "trained" technicians our lines go bad again within a few months. So, here we sit today waiting for another service call (this is the 4th time). Our wonderful provider, SBC, has informed us that the repairman will be here between 8 in the morning, and 6 in the evening. I wonder what they would say if we said we would send them our bill between the first and second week of the month? Since we only have the use of our phone for about 3 weeks out of the month, what would happen if we decided to pay them only for the time we had the the use of the phone? The problem is, we have nobody to protest to because they have a monopoly on our phones. What a great way to spend the weekend....:)

OK...OK....I'm over complaining...hahaha. It's an incredible place with some of the most perfectly preserved fossils around. If you like archeology, you'll love this place.

The pits are called tar pits because long ago, there were these huge pools of tar where Los Angeles is now. The Wooly Mamoths (sp) and Sarber Toothed Tigers would be walking along and all of a sudden get caught in the tar and would slowly die from struggling and starvation. So after all these years, there are now thousands of fossils perfectly preserved in the tar which is now basically asphalt. It's really an amazing sight, and if you're ever down here, you have to see it. Go to http://www.tarpits.org/ to see what it's all about.

Warning though; IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SMELL OF HOT TAR OR ASPHALT, YOU WON'T LIKE THIS PLACE. When they call it the tar pits, they meant it. It was really kind of cool though. You'd be walking along these beautiful palm tree lined pathways, and all of a sudden you would see a fenced off area. Behind the fence, you'd see this tar bubbling out of the ground like the Beverly Hillbillies oil gyser. This is really a great place with a great museaum and pathways to walk.

Check out the pics from our trip and let us know what you think.

I now know that you should NEVER brag about how good you have it and not expect some sort of negative reaction. One of the first blogs that we wrote here was about how nice of weather we were having. Well, we sure are being punished for that boast now. The weather here is just horrible. We have been at least 5 degrees below normal every day now for what seems an eternity.

So for all of those we may have offended by our bragging, we take it back. Now please take the hex off of us and give us back our nice California sunshine. The tourists are hating it right now, usually you see them in their shorts running across the street to Disneyland, but when I drove by there the other day, everyone was all bundled up. Of course it still doesn't bother the suffers. The funniest thing about it is that Carmyy is no longer a British Columbian. If the temperature now gets below 75 Farenheit, she goes into a freezing attack and grabs a blanket. My how times have changed.....:)

ForMuch of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized streamof zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures and returns. For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually yourfootprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling Hisconsistently. You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Yourfootprints, the ones that once etched the sand next to Jesus', are nowwalking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprints are yoursmaller ones, safely you and Jesus are becoming one. This goes on formany miles, but gradually you notice another change.

The footprints inside the larger footprints seem to grow larger.Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set offootprints; they have become one. This goes on for a long time, butsuddenly the second set of footprints is back.

This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops.Starts. Deep gashes in the sand. A veritable mess of prints! You areamazed and shocked... Your dream ends.

Now, you pray: "Lord, I understand: The first scene with zigzags fits. Iwas just learning to follow you. But you walked on through the storm andhelped me learn to walk with you."

"That is correct."

"... and when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I wasactually learning to walk in Your steps; following you very closely."

"Very good. You have understood everything so far."

"...when the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose thatI was becoming like you in every way."

"Precisely."

"So, Lord, was there a regression or something?! The footprintsseparated, and this time it was worse than at first."

There is a pause as the Lord answers with a smile in his voice. "Youdidn't know? That was when we danced."

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:A time to weep, a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance'' Ecclesiastes 3:1,4.

Does Evil Exist?? The University professor challenged his students with this question.

"Did God create everything that exists?"

A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"

"God created everything?" The professor asked.

"Yes sir", the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then God is evil."

The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"

"Of course", replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"

"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question.

The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460? F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."

The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"

The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"

Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

The professor sat down.

The young man's name -- Albert Einstein

There were four country churches in a small TEXAS town:

The Presbyterian Church, the Baptist Church, the Methodist Church and the Catholic Church.

Each church was overrun with pesky squirrels.

One day, the Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about the squirrels. After much prayer and consideration they determined that the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn't interfere with God's Divine will.

In the Methodist Church the squirrels had taken up habitation in the baptistery Bowl. The deacons met and decided to put a cover on the baptistery bowl and drown the squirrels in it. The squirrels escaped somehow and there were twice asmany there the next week.

The Catholic group got together and decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God's creation. So, they humanely trapped the squirrels! and set them free a few miles outside of town. Three days later, the squirrels were back.

But the Baptist Church came up with the best and most effective solution. They baptized the squirrels and registered them as members of the church. Now they only see them on Christmas and Easter.

God Bless

Carmyy & Mikers

I'm worried about Carmen!

Ok, this is it. Two nights ago Carmy had a dream that she saved the world from the War of the Worlds invaders by convincing them not to kill the humans for our resources. They were so impressed with her that they made her the second-in-command. Now we just finished watching the 80's remake of The Fog. She's sitting on the coach advising the people on the movie that they're about to die (in a very strange voice I might add). I fear for my safety. I am cutting her off of Science Fiction movies. I would like to,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,help me, she has a weird look in her eye and coming towards me....helllllppppppppp.....

What it means to be A British Columbian

I just recieved this in an email & since I'm orignally from BC, Canada, I thought I'd stick it on here. Sooooo, I asked Carmen if she could research a way for us to put video on a website, or blog site, and here is her first attempt. At first she was convinced that she couldn't do it, but I know her too well. This short video was done with just our digital camera. I can't wait to see what she finds in the future...:) I have the coolest wife ever (sorry guys, it's just my opinion, your wives are awesome to....haha). So know we're off to Fryes (an electronic shop) to see what other wonders we can find to spice this site up. We have the coolest dog named Peaches that we rescued from the shelter. But as soon as we put the flea drops on her, she goes into hiding. Now look at this picture and tell me how you can hurt this dog....shame on you Carmy....:)

Well, now that the fight between Carmy and the dog is over, it's time for me to go and relax. Carmy has discovered the Jimmy Stewart 1939 classic Mr. Smith goes to Washington, and she is bound and determined to get it all watched tonight. We have two Tivos in the house, so she gets a lot recorded. It's fun to watch her get to see so many of the classics that she never got to see before.

Well, I wish you all a blessed evening, and please call on us anytime.

In Him,
Mike

Welcome to our Place

Well here we are roughing it with another gorgeous day in Mickey's World.
Its a freezing 73 degrees outside & the sun is hurting our eyes.
The palm trees outside our patio are swaying in the light breeze.
The ducks & the turtles are working on their tans in the koi pond just below us.
And were inside working on our blog.
I can see you laughing at us, so stop it, this is all your fault for making us do this.
Hee hee were just joking around as usual.
Anywho thats all for now.
